Well here it is. The first Tassels album in 8 years. Produced in the winter of 2019, Sound Effects is a concept album based around the release of thousands of free BBC sound effects. In some tracks the effects themselves form the beat and structure of the song, in others they float in the background. It’s very much intended to be a full listen- a journey through the BBC catalogue from coal mining to engine rooms to the hedgerows of the English countryside to the weird backrooms of some sound stage in London. It goes from clunky, organic, driving beats into spacious, melancholic soundscapes. As always, all tracks made on a super old Macbook in Garageband! Artwork by Devin O’Rourke.
